On Translia, Job means a translation project that clients create and include information such as languages, translation rate, instruction, etc.

For each job, clients upload one or more Source files, which include source text to translate.

For each source file, the system will generate a Target file, which is same as the corresponding source file in file format but includes target text (text already translated into the target language). If the file is not fully translated yet, the source text will be placed in the target file.

The system parses each source file, extracts translatable text from it, and divides them into smaller pieces (if necessary) that we call Segment. Segments are objects that translators can work on. A segment includes a piece of source text and its corresponding translation (target text).

The process of dividing source file into smaller pieces is referred to as Segmentation.

In short,

• Clients create and manage jobs. Clients attach source files to job.
• System creates segments based on source file.
• Translators work on segments.
