Translia Update - Additional languages in Translator profile

Dear All,

We made some changes to the setting of Additional languages for easier search and job notification. The fields Third and Fourth languages are added for multi-linguists. The original field will be kept for some time then deleted. Please update your profile at your early convenience.

Thank you for the attention,

Yolanda

Third language

Dear Yolanda,

I don't see what the third language in my profile is for. I don't have access to any task in it nor do I receive any notifications of jobs in that language.
When I work with that language you're rule is that I can't set a segment to "ready to commit" but I think I should be able to, at least, participate and give my suggestion in its translation.

Cheers,
Carl

Hi Carl, As some wish to

Hi Carl,

As some wish to recieve as many job notification emails as possible, some not. So as to control the emails, we always send job notification emails for Second lang -> First lang. But for other combination, it depends on the job schedule, headcount of translators of that language pair and so on.

Same for the display of the jobs to translators, we are still fine tuning the view so as to ensure you only see what you want and can find the job easily.

Thank you for the feedback!

Yolanda

to find other language sources

I have been able to access other languages from the "Translations" tab. Is this the only way for now? Will we be able to get notification of jobs for other language pairs as well?

Thomas

Hello Thomas, Among the jobs

Hello Thomas,

Among the jobs that you can see from your list, you can only do translation for some and may not be able to do Editing/Proofreading. For this reason, we don't send the job notification for such jobs, which may lead to confusion.

We are still fine tuning the mailing rules so more are happy with it.

Thanks for the feedback!
Yolanda

Thanks

Hi Yolanda!
Thanks for the answer and your concern!

I hope some day to have access to translations for my third language.

Cheers

Carl
