Consistency check

Hi All,

Is there any chance to implement a consistency check feature here (or a Termbase to certain jobs)? I took a look at Omega translations (Hungarian) and I found some embarrassing inconsistencies and I do think these issues will be difficult to correct as the job progresses. Or did I miss something important?

Very pertinent observation, Transliators working in a group may think of sharing terminology to overcome inconsistency. On the other hand, it might also be very embarasing if one does not make use of, i.e, synonimy when translating. To my view, it's a matter of "savant dosage" when using terms that come all the time.

Thank you so much for the feedback, szdiana! You are correct that a Termbase or TM will be very helpful for the translation projects like Omega. Translia team is working on the TM feature for better quality.

Working as a translator for many years now, I find that a TM is fundamental: it helps keeping the terminology consistent, but also the style of the translation. For instance, in Portuguese, in manuals, you can either use the infinitive or the imperative to address the user. I find it very bad when a manual uses both forms indifferently, as it is so often the case. So, I am very much looking forward to the new TM feature. Congrats on implementing it!

You are absolutely right that TM is necessary for certain translation projects such as software translation or technical translation, in which terms and style should be consistent. Our Dev team is working hard on it!

I do have a number of exported TMs in txt file format. Some of them are protected by confidientiality agreements, but some are not. If you think they could be of help, please do not hesitate in letting me know.
