The discussion about allowing translators to set multiple Second languages (or even First language) has been carried on since we published Translia. For most translators, they can do professional translation on only one pair of languages and Translia was designed this way considering that it's also one of the basic requirements for many clients.

On the other hand, we realized that still many translators can work on multiple language pairs with good quality. And some times, it's fine to let translators translate from First language to Second language. Based on the feedback from all of you, now we came up with the solution as below:

Only translators whose first language matches the target language ("native translator") can set the translation segment to Ready to commit. It means that the final translation can only be done by native translators although non-native can work on it. It also means that you can work on multiple "source languages" if you are capable to do so. Translator Rank still works, but native language has higher priority if both native and non-native translators work on the same job. For example, a non-native translator with higher rank can't edit the translation by a lower-rank, native translator.

From now on, you can work on more languages that you are confident to deliver good quality translation, build your reputation and make money, without changing your language settings from time to time. Please review your language setting carefully and ensure your First language is your native and best language!

But if you still want to change your language setting for some reason, you will lose your Kudos and Translator Rank, and start from scrach for the new language pair. This feature will be applied soon before we give all some time to review the language setting.
