Translation of "Transliator"

We coined the word "Transliator" from Translia and translator. Now it's translated as:

In Italian it sounds quite good but it is not the same as "transliator". I think there's not an italian translation that would be so similar. Maybe "Transliatore" but it goes too far from the original meaning. So this is ok....for now. Bye Laura

If this is the Dutch 'translation', it does not it, for as in German the translation for translator is not equal-sounding, ei, vertaler, Uberzetser (Ger)
Due to influences from Flemish, people will understand it, but it does not ring a nice tone.

The word for translation in Russian is перевод, and translator is переводчик.

An option I can suggest is транслиатель, транслиант or транслиальщик. But all of them sound pretty bad.

I think it works very well in English, but it is completely unnecessary (and weird-sounding) in Portuguese. The Italian version seems better, to be honest.."Transliadutor" just doesn't have the subtelty of "Transliator".

I agree with you. I too think that in English it has it's ring but loses the feel when put in these Latin based languages.

Unless we coined a new word/name. "Transliador" or "Transliator" as in a person of Translia ??

Could I ask what this word designed for? It looks ok, but it could sound for Russians as "транслятор", which means a special computer program or device. If the word is meant for written speech only, it's quite acceptable. If you are going to use it in oral speech, it would be better to revise the word.

It's from Translia and Translator. It's mostly used in written format but it would be better if it's easy to pronounce and good to ears.
