Improving source while translating

Be sure to report it in Support section if you find any errors in the source text for Translia site. This is an example error reported by carlbahnson (thank you again!) - http://www.translia.com/node/115179. Although the segment 11844 belongs to the Spanish job, the issue is applied to the all languages. Be aware of it if you work on the other languages for the second part of Translia web page translation.

Use of "shall" on Translia site

I've spotted "shall" being used a few times on the site, and every time I've seen it so far, it's incorrect and ought to be "should".

For example, under the Groups heading: "You shall join all groups related to the subjects that you work with."

In the context of an obligation, "should" ought to be used instead: "You should join all the groups..."

If the process described is optional, it's best to use "can", although that wouldn't work in the example above without recasting the sentence slightly: "You can join as many groups as you like that are related to the subjects you work with." (Should really be "with which you work", but it's a bit of a mouthful.)

"Shall" isn't really used in this sense any more. It's more a suggestion: "Shall we go to the cinema tonight?" And that's about the only example of the use of "shall" that I can come up with - it's really not used much, at least in UK English.

(edit) - I've just realised this is probably in the wrong place so will try to post it again in Issues!

Shall vs Should

Yes, it should be SHOULD. It's easy to change that by using Ctrl+F.

Use of shall

I agree with Carl, the use of shall is not apropriate here. As a question it can be used as a suggestion but in other uses such as Air Traffic Control it is used as a command, also in the Bible it is used as a command.
