Segment 114088

How do we present our site

I think that the way in which we are presenting our site and Translia to the public in every language, is essential to our success and is for that reason I am reviewing our former translated pages in order to help showing a product that will help us to win business in Spain with spaniards.
The following is one example on segment 114088.

The target text that was placed as the finished product will prevent many customers to select Translia as their choice for quality translation(this is my point of view as an spaniard). The following text in my own view will be apropiate for a good translation, as follows:

La traducción sigue siendo una de las tareas mas complejas que aun necesita ser realizada por profesionales altamente cualificados. Las cosas les parecen tan sencillas a los clientes porque la parte complicada la guardamos para nosotros. Detrás de las páginas web simples, se encuentran miles de traductores profesionales, gigabytes de datos, toneladas de delicados algoritmos de IA y muchas líneas de bellos códigos.... y un equipo inteligente que está consiguiendo que una revolución en traducciones se haga realidad.

I would ask you to submit this to any proofreading Spanish person in order to clarify this matter for the good of Translia.

By the way "performante" as a word or concept does not exist in spanish, "qualificados" is written "cualificados" in Spanish.
If you write "si se le parece" in a spanish grammar exam, you will get an "F-".

I will continue...

Thank you very much for your

Thank you very much for your input, joselovato2!

I do not understand

Well Yolanda Tan, I am a little confused, This morning I was upgraded to level 10, and now I am back to level 9, ok I accept the fact, but what I really do not understand is why? I think I made honest comments, though I could have been less agressive, if that was the point, please let me know in order to be less acid next time.

Thank you very much and have a nice year end!

Take it easy, Joselobato2!

Rank is not completely fixed. Many factors affect it but "being less aggressive" is never one of the reasons - our server is not as intelligent as human.

Joking apart, pls understand that in our system there is always some percentage of top ones such as rank 9 and 10 - the rank changes with your contribution and also with the members of the whole site. In our opinions, if the rank is fixed, very possibly that there will be more and more rank 9 and 10 - so will it mean anything to both you and the clients? Fixed percentage is more reasonable in our eyes. As the change of the rank, sometimes it's not you did something not good, but someone else did something contributed to his/her rank - the gap may be tiny but in the computer way, we may see the difference - rank 9 and rank 10.

We should have been given you all the guide about the change, but sorry to say that it's delayed somehow.

I am taking it easy, but we do still show the wrong translation!

We are starting a new year and I hope it will bring us many new jobs and customers, but I am a little concerned about wrong translations with inexistent words on it still showing up in our final work. Is that going to pass the final controls and proof readings?

Truly yours

joselobato2

Thank you for the suggestion, joselobato2!

Proofreading the whole website is necessary to ensure the quality. It's in our plan. And I'm glad to see that many translators are giving their feedback on the existing translation everyday, discussing which is better when they know more about the website and use more.

BTW, more are talking about the rank in the Forum. Have a look at it when you have time, and join the discussion if you like.

Dear Joselebato2

Dear Joselebato2

I am probably one of those *pirates* who mercilessly destroy your hard work.
One of those translators who know Spanish *less than you*.
Perhaps the following considerations somehow escaped your sharp mind :

1) This is not about TEXTBOOK TRANSLATION.
The source text in plain international English, which already underwent much-needed consistency / stylistic editing, is but a canvas for us to work upon.

2) Translia does CROWD-SOURCING, and nobody primarily stands from the crowd.

I am looking forward to discussing each and every bit and scrap of each and every segment my treatment of which you should occur to disagree with.
Because I really stand for and behind whatever I wrote in Cervantes' language.

Yours sincerely ;)
