In Translia’s Guide we can read:
"You can set a segment as Needs review or Needs work if you find its quality is poor, even if someone else has set it as Ready to commit. In any case, you shall not set a new translation as Ready to commit. The best translation practice is to have your translation reviewed by someone else!"
While I understand the purpose of the above clauses, this feature makes translator's work extremely vulnerable to not-always-valid style modifications, synonyms usage, and misuse of the everlasting-free-changeable segment status.
As we know, each edit modification lessen translator original % contribution and hence a fair reward for his effort. In my opinion, a just solution to this inconsistency is that once a segment has been set as "Ready to Commit" it should reach a definitive and not changeable status. In this way, translators are really committed with their works; you may have good, not so good and bad translators as everything in this life, but natural selection should also play here its role. An ever-changeable segment status option does not foster a serious professional work. Ever changeable segment status is not really reasonable.

Hello ftruccoh,
I fully understand your points or your concern. Some Translia members had the similar questions as you. While, Translia as a website of community translation and open translation, we assump that our members always want to do something good for the site, for a job or for a segment... Although it's very easy for us to change our code and set more controls here and there, we usually choose not to do so based on our concept. Self-organization is the best way to be productive, efficient and of sense of achivement. Right?

I would like to insist in the logic that it is better and healthier to privilege a fair compensation for the translator's job, his responsibility and commitment, rather than favor the volatility of his effort.

Such suggestion is always helpful for Translia team. Translia translation model is new to all and let's give it more time before we change it back to the traditional way. Otherwise, we won't take the advantage of it either. All the time, how to ensure the best quality and Translia has the best translators is one of most important things for us . We are eager to improve everything once it's necessary.

Setting Segment Status
Another problem that may arise with the ever-changeable segment approach is the generation of not-resolved disagreements. One of the best mechanisms of terminating a segment dispute, involving two or more translators, is to bestowing (i.e.: committed to) a-not-changeable "Ready to Commit" level to the segment in discussion. Again, leaving an open-ended segment is extremely controversial.

QA Process
Hi ftruccoh,
Yes, different opinions on a term or sentence translation is common. We are planning to add QA process as one of Translia service to the client. Translators may not always agree with QAer's translation (or client's sometimes) either but we would like to rely on the qualified QAers and let them decide the final translation.
On the other hand, the way we recommend translator for a job ensures that we can select the best available ones who are able to understand the source comprehensively and express it in the target language accurately and fluently. The longer time Translia website operates, the better result.
Finally, we do rely on each Translia member (like you :-) to let us know all kinds of issues, concerns and comments since Translia team is not able to understand all the languages and there may be a special case for certain languages. We would like to elimate such thing as much as possible to work with the best translators and deliver best quality together.
