Accounts with client role for website testing/proofreading

Thanks to the supporters of Translia, some are willing to help us proofreading the website to make it perfect, as this is a translation website. Of course our translation should be good enough to give our clients' confidence on the translation quality. A suggestion:

1. Review the website as anonymous user, without login, for both client and translator part;

Translation of "Transliator"

Job 123663

Yesterday I found a mistake on the word dus which should not have an accent. I wrote it correctly but the mistake is back to day.
My rate changed from 9 to 8 so I can no longer use "edit".

I do insist that this is a mistake to put an accent in the plural : un point dû - des points dus -

Thanks and best regards.

Alex

Happy new year!

It's a real pleasure to work with you on this site.

I wish you all the best for 2010 !

"Lia"

To All.

In reference to the question of translating "Translia" in other languages, what is the meaning of "Lia"?
It is a first name in Dutch, may stem from Hebrew, and I would like to know personally as welll, since I have a sister with that name.

First version multi-lingual website available now!

With the contribution of all of you, part of Translia is translated into 12 languages. I know that some translation needs to be further reviewed but still glad to see the first version multi-lingual website!

It's not the final translation yet, pls give feedback to my comments in Forum so we can move to the next step.

Should you detect any translation bug, report it to us pls.

Cheers!

Home - translation

The question was:
Never thought that we may have different translation for this word Home (or homepage actually).
For Dutch: Home/Thuis - in the menu translation job, it's Thuis, but from some multi-lingual websites, it's Home. Confusing...
For Hungarian: Főoldal/Címlap?
For Chinese: /.
Which is the best?

Dear all,

Help us fighting with localization issue

Localizing website into a dozen languages is not easy. Localizing a translation website is even more challenging because... it is a translation site!

Improving source while translating

Be sure to report it in Support section if you find any errors in the source text for Translia site. This is an example error reported by carlbahnson (thank you again!) - http://www.translia.com/node/115179. Although the segment 11844 belongs to the Spanish job, the issue is applied to the all languages.

Menu translation

Firstly thank all translator who contributed to menu translation jobs.

While some of jobs are not finished yet, I put the translations onto the site so that they can be verified in the context. For view the site in your own language, add the lnguage code to the domain name. For example, enter http://www.translia.com/de in your browser's address bar will open German site.

German site

Translia in German is up. You may access it by going to http://www.translia.com/de.

Before we show the langauge selector, you may switch between English and German sites by adding/removing "/de" to/from url after the domain name.

PO/POT files

Guys, I would like to ask if you ever worked with PO/POT file format, which are ususally used for website localization.

However Translia translation projects do NOT require translators to possess PO/POT knowldge. Our engineers will handle UI text and translations in PO format but you will work with only segments, regardless whatever file format it would be.

Headup: How we will translate Translia

Technically Translia is globalization ready and can be translate into multiple languages. We chose Simplified Chinese as pilot language and a Chinese prototype site is available at http://www.translia.com/sc (when you want to come back to English site, just remove 'sc' from the URL).
