Job 1061784 - Bad feedback - Only my rank decreased - I didn't translate anything.....

I would like to know why only my rank decreased. For that translation (Job 1061784), I only ''translated'' segments with ''------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------'' because English is not my mother tongue and so I didn't want to make mistakes. Those segments I ''translated'' are not really translations. My rank decreased from 7 to 5, but all the other English (mother tongue) translators that have made the whole translation still have the same rank. That's really not fair at all !!!!

I agree that who makes a mistake has to have a decreased rank, but not only one and for segments that aren't real translations. Also, I think that who makes the proofreading and who commits translations has to have a bigger responsability in the bad translations because they have to read what they commit!

For the other translation, I agree when you say that I've made a mistake with a double H, but I don't think that double H and translating ''------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------'' is a good reason to decrease my rank from 8 to 5 in 2 days !!

Mmmh. Does seem strange.

Mmmh. Does seem strange. Can only think the decreased rank included some other translations you did. Happened to me a while ago and I couldn't figure why I was the only one. Don't ponder too much on it because you will soon work your way up again.

Change in rank

Yes, it would be nice if there was a note attached to each rank change, a sort of quick explanation. My rank went up to an 8 one day and the next day it went back down to 7. I don't have a clue why but as Belier said I'm not going to worry too much and soon I'm sure it'll go back up. It does leave you wondering though.

Rank Change

Yes, some of the people I am working with in both senses of my language pair have fallen quite far down the ladder and have been stuck there for ages. I find their translations really good but when I am working on a project with them, they are now unable to move it forward or edit which I really find a shame. They obviously have a good command of their mother tongue but can't change the inaccuracies of a higher ranked non-mother tongue who has translated in their language. Others who have made quite bad mistakes and don't seem to understand the nuances of the language, have shot up the ladder. I think they must have passed between the raindrops and not been the subject of the spot checks and the first ones I spoke of just were unlucky.

Hmm...

I agree with all of you. explanation should be provided for the rank change - in particular, the rank is decreased. why???
