Hi Jochen, hi group

checking out Translia, I translate English into German only and do German editing as well (journalist for 20 yrs). Sometimes I need native teamers for English into other languages and that's why I am looking forward to coop up once. Translia looks like a nice idea but is it actually working? Any successful members like to tell their stories?

bin neu im Geschaeft habe aber langjaehrige Erfahrung in der Automobilindustrie und deren Zulieferern in den vier wichtigsten Sprachen in dieser Industrie. Meine Sprachkombinationen sind:

Hallo,

ich heisse Fernando und komme aus Buenos Aires, Argentinien. Ich würde mich sehr darüber freuen, wenn wir etwas ins Spanische zu übersetzen hätten. Wahrscheinlich aber geschieht das nicht so oft hier.

Hello everybody,

Just a quick note to introduce myself. I have just joined Translia today and am looking forward to seeing how well this idea works.

I am based in the UK. I have been free-lancing since last autumn, before then I worked in-house for 12 years for the UK subsidiary of a German burner and heating system manufacturer.

I finished a job a couple of day ago. The job is still labelled as open, but 100% of the work is done. When will the job be marked as closed? or: can I mark him as closed, and if so, how can I do this?

for a newbie it is pretty difficult to ask a question, I am not sure, if this is the right place for my question, I couldn't dind another one. Why not use messenger for communicating??

Hallo ich bin neu hier,

alles noch etwas ungewohnt, aber das wird schon werden.

Mich würde interessieren, ob es hier auch so etwas wie einen Translation Memory gibt, der wäre, vor allem bei größeren Projekten, sehr hilfreich, eigentlich fast unabdingbar.
